SRM Students Create Colorful Chairs for School’s Counseling Office
Thursday, July 11, 2019
Some Soule Road Middle students recently used their art skills to give back to the school. SRM art teacher Susan Sapareto and guidance counselor recently Jessica Kersey decided to turn some surplus wooden chairs into pieces of art to help brighten up a table in Kersey’s office. The pair asked students to submit design ideas for the chairs, which featured topics such as love, the beach and traveling. Once the top eight designs were selected, SRM seventh-grader Jewelyana Daniels, seventh-grader Kylie Walker, seventh-grader Lexus Santimaw, eighth-grader Trinity Howard, eighth-grader Juliana Barber, eighth-grader Kaitlyn Fico, eighth-grader Alexis Byrne, eighth-grader Mya Vallat, eighth-grader Javier Gonzales, eighth-grader Cecelia Henriksen, seventh-grader Christy Bui, eighth-grader Madison Breckheimer and eighth-grader Olivia Forster spent time during their lunch and academic support blocks painting the chairs and bringing the designs to life.
