COVID-19 Update: BOE Adjusts 2019-2020 Calendar
Tuesday, May 19, 2020
Dear LCSD Parents and Guardians:
Last evening, the Liverpool Central School District Board of Education revised the District Calendar for the 2019-2020 school year.
Based on Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order closing school for the remainder of this school year and a discussion with the school district’s attorney, the board modified the calendar (originally approved on March 11, 2019) to reflect the loss of the Spring Break Week (which became an additional week of instruction).
With that change, and while also adhering to our contractual obligations, the last day of school for students will now be June 16 and the last day for staff will now be June 17.
The approved calendar revision does not impact this weekend’s Memorial Day holiday, which will remain a four-day weekend for students and staff.
I would just like to thank you once again for your patience and understanding. This “new way” of educating our students has not been easy, but your assistance has been key in helping us achieve a continuity of learning for all of our students.
Dr. Mark F. Potter
Superintendent of Schools
